Erg Chebbi and Merzouga Dunes from Ouarzazate, 3 Days and 2 Nights
See much more of southern Morocco on the way to the dunes: Dades and Todra gorges, remote villages, a camel trek and a desert night.
The best plan to see more of southern Morocco and learn about the Draa Tafilalet region. Besides the camel ride and a night under tents in Erg Chebbi, you explore the Dades Gorges, the Todra Gorges, the Berber village of Tamtatoucht and the Amellagou area.
The first night is in a hotel in a remote area (Dades Gorges, Todra or Tamtatoucht). The second night is in the Merzouga desert in a nomad camp, or in a luxury desert camp for more comfort, especially in the cold winter months. Hotels with a pool at the dune line are available if you prefer not to camp.

Itinerary
Day 1: Ouarzazate, Skoura, Dades Valley, Todra Gorges
Pickup at 8:30 am and drive to the Skoura palm grove to visit Amridil Kasbah, then the city of roses, Kalaat Mgouna. Take an off road track through Boutaghrar and the Mgoun Valley to meet nomads living in caves and cross to the Dades Gorges past the Ait Youl kasbah. Walk in the valley with a local guide, then continue to the Todra valley and gorges for the night in a guesthouse hotel.
Day 2: Todra Gorges, Tamtatoucht, Amellagou, Erg Chebbi
After breakfast hike in the Todra Valley or Tamtatoucht village, then drive through Amellagou and Ait Hani, remote villages and beautiful scenery, to Tadighoust and Goulmima. Stop at the old ksar of Igoulmim before continuing into the desert of Merzouga for a sunset camel ride and a night in tents.
Day 3: Erg Chebbi, Agdz, Draa Valley, Ouarzazate
An early wake up for sunrise on the dunes, breakfast and the camel trek back to your driver. Return to Ouarzazate by a different route with stops at Rissani market and in the Draa Valley through Agdz, crossing the Anti Atlas.
