1000 Kasbahs Road and Todra Gorges Day Trip
A full day east along the road of a thousand kasbahs to the palm valley of Tinghir and the limestone walls of the Todra Gorges.
We call it the 1000 kasbah road because of the enormous number of kasbahs you see along the way. Pickup is at your riad or hotel in Ouarzazate around 8 am. You head to the Skoura palm grove to visit the Amridil Kasbah, then continue to Kalaat Mgouna, the town known for Morocco's Damask roses.
Next is the province of Tinghir and its beautiful Todra palm grove, a valley about 30 miles long with stunning views from the riverbanks. A 12 km drive along the valley brings you to the Todra Gorges, limestone canyons in the eastern High Atlas and a hidden gem for rock climbers. After lunch in a local restaurant, choose a hike or an easy walk in the palm grove and a visit of the Jewish quarter in Tinghir before returning to Ouarzazate in the late afternoon.
